Our firm was founded in 1932 by Alfred Knoll (1909-1980). His son Hartmut Knoll (*1937, Master examination 1965) took over in 1977.The third generation of Knolls has been active since
Gerald Knoll ( *1965, Master examination 1999 ), a grandson of the founder, joined the firm in 1993.
We produce a wide program of violin, viola, cello and contrabass bows ranging from simple student bows, to master bows that meet the highest demands. With our careful selection of aged woods and precise, individual, hand craftsmanship by well trained specialists, even our
beginners’ bows are carefully constructed and worthy tools in the hands of the instrumentalist. This increases throughout our quality spectrum and we needn’t
mention that our master bows represent the highest standards of artistic handicraft. Our many awards and high rankings at national and international competitions and displays testify to it. |
